Wayne Broadley Trust Fund

Wayne Broadley was injured playing rugby for Kendal Rugby Club in 2005 when he was only 21 years old. Wayne is now living independently in Kendal.

As a result of his injury, Wayne is paralysed from the neck down and requires 24 hour care to assist him. His friends and close family set up a fund called the Wayne Broadley Trust Fund shortly after his accident to help support him financially. The fund enables Wayne to pay for physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, pressure relieving equipment, wheelchairs, and, among others things, everyday life.

Since 2007 a group of Wayne’s closest friends and family have put on an outdoor, Kendal based, live music festival supporting North West bands, which raises money for the fund and also gives young local bands a chance to shine. We host the live outdoor music festival at the Kendal Rugby Club and it's called MOONFEST.

The festival includes a variety of live Music acts, Food outlets, children’s entertainment, and refreshment bar and through charging a small fee on the gate we have managed to attract close to 2500 people some years and have raised figures up to £11,000.

So please come and support us this year, where the majority of the money raised will go to Wayne's fund and the rest will go to his chosen charity...
